Missoula Theatre is putting on The Jungle Book

Join us for an exciting week of theater! Missoula Children’s Theatre is bringing The Jungle Book to East Ridge Elementary, and your student can register to be part of the show.

Registration opens Monday, 3/2 at 8pm

This opportunity is open to 1st - 5th grade East Ridge students (registration is first come, first serve). 

• Cost: $100 per student, to be collected after auditions.
• Requirement: Families must be PTA members to register. 
• Schedule: Auditions and rehearsals run March 16–20, every day after school up until 8:00 pm. Exact times vary by actor.
• Performances: Two shows on Saturday, March 21 - (tentatively 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm). Actors report to school at 12:00 pm.

Not every cast member is called to every rehearsal. However, students must have a clear schedule for the entire week and, if cast, attend all required rehearsals and performances for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided after auditions. 

(Students age 7 and under are typically dismissed earlier, but most cast members should plan to be available until 8:00pm each day.)

Each family will sign up for two volunteer shifts during the week. This production depends on everyone pitching in, many hands make light work! Volunteer sign-ups will be sent to participating families after registration.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that Missoula is a big commitment and takes a lot of concentration and effort from each student in order to pull off the amazing feat of putting on a proper musical production in only one week. 

Directors will communicate with adult volunteers and parents if needed about student behavior, attitude, or lack of effort. Our aim is to problem solve how best to support each student while also progressing toward our goal of performing on Saturday. It is our goal to have a positive, productive, and fun week. The Missoula directors have the final say on if a student's behavior requires that they be dismissed from the cast.
