The mission of East Ridge Elementary PTA is to enrich, encourage, and enlighten. We do this through providing a wide spectrum of educational programs and a network of support for both our students and our staff.
The ERPTA provides essential funding, programs, services, and insurance beyond what is provided the by the Northshore School District. These members work tirelessly to ensure that East Ridge is a great place for all students and families!
Volunteering with the PTA

Responsible for the operations of the PTA in accordance with the WA State PTA Uniform Bylaws and the PTA Standing Rules. Chairs all executive, board, and general meetings. Collaborates regularly with the principal and school staff. Appoints board and volunteer roles with executive input. Supports and empowers volunteers. Ensures mid-year and year-end audits of PTA records.

Supports the President in all PTA duties and steps in to lead if the President is unavailable or the position becomes vacant.
Assists with overseeing committees, managing PTA operations, and executing the overall goals of the board throughout the school year.

Records minutes for all PTA meetings and maintains organized records. Coordinates room reservations with the district and sends meeting reminders. Is familiar with the PTA Standing Rules and keeps legal documents easily accessible for reference.

Manages all PTA finances, including membership fees and program income. Signs checks, tracks deposits, and ensures spending aligns with the approved budget. Prepares the annual budget for May approval, closes the books yearly, and files tax and government forms.

Central point of contact for promoting all PTA events and keeping our school community informed. Manages the PTA website, social media channels, and coordinates all PTA announcements for the weekly school newsletter and the monthly school calendar.

Co-Chairs work together to plan and manage fundraising activities throughout the year, including building community relationships, coordinating events, and exploring new ways to support East Ridge PTA programs.

Partners with staff to identify inclusivity needs and plans events that celebrate and reflect the diverse backgrounds of ALL East Ridge families, such as Cultural Night with food, stories, and presentations.

Works with the committee to set a yearly membership goal. Plans membership campaigns and prepares campaign materials. Arranges and advertises any membership benefits.

Creates a welcoming environment at PTA gatherings by organizing refreshments, decor, and thoughtful touches that bring East Ridge families together.

Manages the Art Docent Program, coordinating with volunteers and teachers to support classroom art lessons. Manages art supply inventory, schedules cleanup sessions, and leads volunteer training. Organizes the May Art Walk.

Oversees the planning and operations of PTA-sponsored after-school clubs and activities. Coordinates facility requests with the school, manages student registration and sign-ups, and reviews proposals for new program offerings to ensure a diverse range of enriching opportunities.

Maintains our emergency supply shed, orders needed items, and ensures staff and volunteers are aware of school safety plans.

Oversees the nomination and selection process for the annual Golden Acorn Awards.
Reviews community submissions to recognize and honor outstanding volunteers and educators who have made a significant positive impact on East Ridge.

Responsible for demonstrating leadership on children's issues at the local level by
educating PTA members, community members, and elected officials about PTA's issues of concern and legislative priorities. Can attend PTA Legislative Assembly and vote as a PTA delegate.

Coordinates the design, ordering, and sales of East Ridge spirit wear, ensuring families have fun ways to show school pride throughout the year.

Organizes events to show gratitude to our amazing East Ridge staff throughout the year. Activities often include Back-to-School Luncheon, Staff Appreciation Week, and monthly treats or surprises to show how much we value everything they do.

Leads the team that captures the spirit of the school year! Gathers photos from events, assemblies, and everyday moments, then helps compile and distribute a memorable yearbook that students will treasure.

Manages our annual celebration of student art and creativity. In addition to curating the school-wide gallery of student artwork, this role coordinates interactive art stations, manages volunteers, and oversees event logistics to provide a fun, hands-on experience for East Ridge families.

Coordinates a night of family fun! Procures prizes, manages bingo supplies, sets up the event, and recruits volunteers for this fan-favorite night.

Coordinates the Scholastic Book Fair, using the annual theme to encourage student participation. Works closely with the Librarian to promote the fair through the library, school, and online channels.

Coordinates the materials and finds volunteers to help run grade level book club meetings during lunch recess. Each grade level group meets bi-weekly for 5 sessions.

Coordinates the after-school Chess Club, providing students of all skill levels the opportunity to learn strategy and play matches. Manages weekly sessions and communicates directly with participating families.

Oversees the planning and execution of the PTA’s annual Community Serve Day. Responsibilities include identifying hands-on service projects, gathering necessary tools and supplies, and managing volunteers to help our school and local community shine.

Coordinates our vibrant Cultural Night, a special evening celebrating the rich heritage and traditions within our East Ridge community.

A new role and club this year! Responsible for managing the after-school Dance Club, facilitating a fun and active space for students to learn choreography and movement.

Organizes activities that teach kids about gardening and nature. Plans and leads regular Wednesday Weeder events and selects plants and greenery (with PTA funds) to enrich the beauty of East Ridge.

Organizes our annual autumn celebration, bringing the East Ridge community together to kick off the school year. Coordinates seasonal activities, entertainment, and food to create a fun, welcoming environment for all our families.

Organizes a day filled with games, activities, and school spirit. Work with staff and volunteers to create an unforgettable end-of-year celebration for all East Ridge students.

Spearheads our biggest fundraiser of the year, ensuring a highly successful campaign that funds the majority of our PTA programs. Manages the overall strategy, community messaging, and volunteer coordination, while making sure the entire event is an absolute blast for the students with fun incentives and a high-energy race day.

Our amazing music teacher hosts this fan-favorite event while the PTA coordinates the necessary parent volunteers and funding to create an unforgettable evening.

Organizes the after-school language program, oversees session logistics and partners with instructors to create an engaging environment for learning a new language.

Coordinates the Math Challenge program, sharing problem sets with students, collecting submissions, and celebrating participation to encourage a love of math at East Ridge.

Oversees the PTA's activities during the back-to-school Meet the Teacher event. Responsibilities include organizing the PTA informational table, coordinating volunteers to hand out treats, and creating a welcoming environment for new and returning East Ridge families.

This committee are working on bringing an exciting social and fundraising event to life for East Ridge parents and care-givers.

Manages East Ridge's participation in the annual National PTA Reflections art program. Promotes the yearly theme, collects student submissions across various artistic categories, and organizes the local judging and recognition before advancing winning pieces to the regional level.

Oversees the after-school Robotics Club. Manages weekly sessions, including set up and clean up, and communicates directly with participating families.

Serves as the primary liaison between the PTA and the Missoula Children's Theatre for the annual spring production. Coordinates the logistics of their week-long residency at East Ridge, including securing audition and rehearsal spaces, managing ticket sales, and organizing parent volunteers to assist the visiting directors.

Finds 2 volunteers to help facilitate as judges and pronouncers at each Spelling Bee. Uses the state-provided Spelling Bee format to run 3 spelling bee events that match the region deadlines. Helps the children move to regionals if that applies.

Partners with the East Ridge school counselor to organize the annual December gift-giving program for families in need. Coordinates the collection and distribution of donations, ensuring a confidential and supportive process to help bring holiday cheer to our school community.
