The mission of East Ridge Elementary PTA is to enrich, encourage, and enlighten. We do this through providing a wide spectrum of educational programs and a network of support for both our students and our staff.
The ERPTA provides essential funding, programs, services, and insurance beyond what is provided the by the Northshore School District. These members work tirelessly to ensure that East Ridge is a great place for all students and families!

Responsible for the operations of the PTA in accordance with the WA State PTA Uniform Bylaws and the PTA Standing Rules. Chairs all executive, board, and general meetings. Collaborates regularly with the principal and school staff. Appoints board and volunteer roles with executive input. Supports and empowers volunteers. Ensures mid-year and year-end audits of PTA records.
Supports the President in all PTA duties and steps in when the President is unavailable or if the position becomes vacant.
Records minutes for all PTA meetings and maintains organized records. Coordinates room reservations with the district and sends meeting reminders. Is familiar with the PTA Standing Rules and keeps legal documents easily accessible for reference.
Manages all PTA finances, including membership fees and program income. Signs checks, tracks deposits, and ensures spending aligns with the approved budget. Prepares the annual budget for May approval, closes the books yearly, and files tax and government forms.
Manages and updates East Ridge PTA's social media and website. Shares content for the East Ridge newsletter and manages ERPTA email forwarding for board and committee members.
Co-Chairs work together to plan and manage fundraising activities throughout the year, including building community relationships, coordinating events, and exploring new ways to support East Ridge PTA programs.

Bring school spirit to life by leading the planning of fun, school-wide events like Fall Festival and Art Walk. Collaborate with PTA members, staff, and volunteers to set dates, reserve spaces, and coordinate support. A great role for creative planners who love building community!

Partners with staff to identify inclusivity needs and plans events that celebrate and reflect the diverse backgrounds of ALL East Ridge families, such as Cultural Night with food, stories, and presentations.

Works with the committee to set a yearly membership goal. Plans membership campaigns and prepares campaign materials. Arranges and advertises any membership benefits.
Creates a welcoming environment at PTA gatherings by organizing refreshments, decor, and thoughtful touches that bring East Ridge families together.
Manages the Art Docent Program, coordinating with volunteers and teachers to support classroom art lessons. Manages art supply inventory, schedules cleanup sessions, and leads volunteer training. Assists the VP of Events in organizing the May Art Walk.
Leads the team that captures the spirit of the school year! Gathers photos from events, assemblies, and everyday moments, then helps compile and distribute a memorable yearbook that students will treasure.
Organizes events to show gratitude to our amazing East Ridge staff throughout the year. Activities often include Back-to-School Luncheon, Staff Appreciation Week, and monthly treats or surprises to show how much we value everything they do.

Responsible for demonstrating leadership on children's issues at the local level by
educating PTA members, community members, and elected officials about PTA's issues of concern and legislative priorities. Can attend PTA Legislative Assembly and vote as a PTA delegate.
Help keep East Ridge ready! This role maintains our emergency supply shed, orders needed items, and ensures staff and volunteers are aware of school safety plans. A great fit for someone who’s organized, proactive, and wants to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes.

Coordinates the design, ordering, and sales of East Ridge spirit wear, ensuring families have fun ways to show school pride throughout the year.
Promotes and manages the Box Tops for Education program, encouraging families to participate and tracking earnings to support East Ridge.
Selects and honors outstanding volunteers and educators through the Golden Acorn Awards, recognizing those who make a significant impact on the East Ridge community.
Coordinates the materials and finds volunteers to help run grade level book club meetings during lunch recess. Each grade level group meets bi-weekly for 5 sessions.
Finds 2 volunteers to help facilitate as judges and pronouncers at each Spelling Bee. Uses the state-provided Spelling Bee format to run 3 spelling bee events that match the region deadlines. Helps the children move to regionals if that applies.
Coordinates the Math Challenge program, sharing problem sets with students, collecting submissions, and celebrating participation to encourage a love of math at East Ridge.
Organizes student guidelines for STEAM projects and presentations. Manages registrations and set-up needs. Works with a committee to select interactive elements, participation awards, and outside guests.
Coordinates the planning and performance of the annual spring Musical/School Play.
Organizes activities that teach kids about gardening and nature. Plans and leads regular Wednesday Weeder events and selects plants and greenery (with PTA funds) to enrich the beauty of East Ridge.
Coordinates the Scholastic Book Fair, using the annual theme to encourage student participation. Works closely with the Librarian to promote the fair through the library, school, and online channels.

Be part of bringing art to life at East Ridge! The Reflections Art Program Chair helps students participate in the national art contest, coordinates submissions, and celebrates every artist’s work. A great role for anyone who loves seeing kids express themselves.
